Tonight the USMNT will begin the long journey to Qatar. They will participate in the “octagonal”. Gregg Berhalter will be without star man Christian Pulisic for their opening match against El Salvador. Playing an away match in El Salvador is always extremely difficult and expect a full house tonight. Some of El Salvador’s danger men are Seattle Sounders right back Alex Roldan and FC Tulsa midfielder Joaquín Rivas.

I would expect Gregg Berhalter to play a 4-3-3, but he could very well play a back 3. It has already been confirmed by US Soccer that New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner will start in goal tonight. Timothy Weah will miss all three games this window due to an injury.

Predicted Lineup

Goalkeeper: Matt Turner (New England Revolution)

Left Back: Antonee Robinson (Fulham)

Center Back: John Brooks (Wolfsburg) and Miles Robinson (Atlanta United)

Right Back: Sergino Dest (Barcelona)

Midfield: Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig), Weston McKennie (Juventus), and Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy)

Left Wing: Giovanni Reyna (Borussia Dortmund)

Striker: Josh Sargent (Norwich City)

Right Wing: Brenden Aaronson (RB Salzburg)
