When Miguel Almiron signed for a then-club-record transfer fee, Newcastle United fans expected a lot from him. After an incredible two seasons for Atlanta United in MLS, he was on form going into his Newcastle tenure. However, Almiron had a tough start and had to wait almost a year to get his first Newcastle goal. While he improved toward the end of last season, no Newcastle fans would have expected him to have the season he is. Almiron already had 6 goals, and we are only in October. Not only is Almiron scoring, but he is also scoring high-quality goals, which makes it even more impressive. While Almiron’s work rate and talent were always there, neither Rafa Benetiz nor Steve Bruce could get Almiron to deliver an end product. Yet Eddie Howe has turned Miggy into the player that Newcastle fans initially expected him to be. Howe did this with Ryan Fraser, while he was the manager of Bournemouth. Newcastle fans can expect Almiron to only get better with Howe as their manager, and the improving quality of the squad around him. The Magpies currently sit in the top four, and it is sure a great time to be a supporter of Newcastle United.
